With the pc switched off at the power supply try powering on the pc a few times then hold it down for a few seconds - this will discharge the power supply. Remove RAM then boot up the pc - leave it run for a minute or 2 - it won't do any harm it'll just clear off any charge from the ram slots.
WebOut of nowhere my PC now hangs at the bios splash screen. I tried resetting cmos by shorting the pins. Definitely reset it because the LEDs all reset to default colors. On powering up, it sequences through the four LEDs down in the bottom right of the MB, but the BOOT led stays lit up.
